Mother's Day Surprises...

Ah, I am not big in holidays where I feel that you should be doing some or all of the stuff for more than just one day in the year, but I must say I really enjoyed today.

First off yesterday we finished Hunter's stepmother's presents, we painted flower pots with her favorite color green and chalkboard paint. He chose tomato seeds to send with them.
One of the pots he drew on says "stop smoking now", I asked him if she smokes, he says no he just wants it to say that. They are his presents to her so I don't have much to say, I just hope she understands that it is him and doesn't read into it.
He did get to talk to her today, but not his dad, not sure where he is today but we waited up late for his call.

On to my day, I insisted that we went to bed at a decent hour the night before, I told H that I did not want to be angry and upset or have a fight that could be
controlled by us just getting a goods night rest. When I woke up I watched some tv, then H woke up and came in and climbed into bed with me and asked me if he could make breakfast in bed, he said all he could make is cereal and I could tell he wanted to do more so I told him how about I get up and help him make the waffles and sausage and then he could serve it to me in bed. He was excited by this idea. I let him do all the measuring and such so really all I was trying to do was to supervise him.
Once the stove was off I ran off to my bedroom. He came in and acted like a waiter and took my order of two waffles with just a little bit of butter, syrup and four sausage links with a glass of milk. I told him to put the waffles on the plate he had made me while he was with his dad over spring break. Oh my little boy was so happy to serve me breakfast in bed, I am glad it worked out for him. Just a little tough to make it a surprise when it is just the two of us but I think we succeeded very well considering.
After my breakfast he told me he had one more surprise for me and he brought in this picture. He checked out a book at school that was teaching him how to draw cats, he drew me one. I love it, it is a very good picture.
He let me just watch tv all day, I even fell back to sleep. We got up and went to Aunt Tami and Uncle Andrew's house to play with the family. It was just a wonderful day, I couldn't have asked for a better day to spend with my son and my family. Worked out wonderfully.
