V-day change of heart...

If I have liked Valentines day before I don't recall, I hate it. It has nothing to do with the holiday really itself, I just feel that if you love someone you should tell or show them all the time and not have a day that makes you do it. The boy has stepped it up a notch this year and I must admit that I have really enjoyed him gifting me this year.

He created this beautiful heart valentine for me, it has purple, my favorite color. I have this hanging up at work.

His next wonderful surprise consisted of me being asked to work late one night. What?! Me work late, that ludicrous! (see previous post) I got to a part where I didn't want to start another project so I asked my sister if I could come home. I love that she helped him out with this because it's hard that he doesn't have someone all the time on hand to help him out with things for me. I love her comment of "I love your son to death but he is SO SLOW MOVING." I know it was said with pure love in her heart and meant nothing by it because I feel the same way some times.

Needless to say these Cherry Chocolate cupcakes with Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting were some of the best cupcakes I have ever tasted. I must say everything tastes better with love behind it.

Valentine's Day...

Well I am one who believes in this commercialized holiday, I truly feel why does it take one day for you to tell the ones you love that you love them. Does that mean you get the other 364 days off in the year to not tell them? A friend of mine from FB put a quote up from Ashton Kutcher who basically says the same thing.

To me every day is Valentine's day, don't get me wrong I do get into the commercialization at times and purchase things for the boy, but I make sure I do special things for my son and I definetly tell him I love him everyday. I don't remember using the "love" word so much while growing up, and even though I love my family and truly would do anything for them it is hard for me to tell them to their faces that I love them. This is why I probably go so overboard with my son and tell him I love him so many times it is probably overkill.

I won't chastize anyone who loves this holiday and I am all for it if it allows you to open up your hearts and share it with those you love at least once a year, but I only ask that you make a vow with yourself to do something special other than this day or just their birthday or anniversary, find one day that has no significance and do the same type of appreciation and love that you make efforts for on Valentine's and let them know you love them just because and not because there is a "day" that tells you to show it.

Happy Valentines!

Ahhh, sweet young love...

Tomorrow in school is Valentine's day because they will not be there on the 14th. My young and beautiful son made valentine's for his class. I think if he had his way, even though he won't admit is out loud, he would give this lovely young girl a special one. I have met this girl on many occasions and she is truly adorable. I sense the feeling is mutual, she is already making the moves on the mom to get to the boy. If you ask H he will tell you they are only best friends but really to save himself from being teased I think he is being kind.

My young child is in a heap of trouble though. He got sent to the principals office, damn boy will be the death of me. Of course I wouldn't have a clue where he gets his temper from. ;) I guess the whole class was acting out and the teacher told the class that she would have to play the role of the mean teacher because no one would listen to her. Well leave it to H to decide that he was going to be mean back. I don't blame her for sending him away. Of course he could care less that he gets no video games and such for the weekend. Blows it off like it is nothing. I even told him he could not play with his toys, well he took it upon himself to find a box to play with. Really, am I suppose to be so mean that I can't even let him play with a box? I let him play with it because he was keeping the damn cat and damn dog from fighting.

Also I got asked while putting the boy to bed tonight why I love Edward so. I explained that Edward was fictional, if he had been real I would probably love him. But then I looked at him and I said "but you like him too". The boy turned his face away with a smile saying no, but the real answer was yes. I have tainted my boy, I think he is secretly waiting for the movie now. He was caught reading Eclipse (which is the one I am currently re-reading at the moment). I have created a girly boy!!!! I would like to hope he will only be more sensitive as he grows up and in tune to girls and women.

Again, I have accomplished yet another post, only hope I can keep it up.

Mr. Owl, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Tootsie Pop?
